Coast Guard Presidential Unit Citation
Criteria:
The Coast Guard Presidential Unit Citation (PUC) was created by President George W. Bush after the Hurricane Katrina Disaster. Awarded to all United States Coast Guard and Coast Guard Auxiliary units who responded to the rescue and relief operations following Hurricane Katrina, it is also approved to be awarded in the future for other disaster responses and for units that show extraordinary heroism in accomplishing their missions under extreme or hazardous conditions. The Hurricane device is approved for wear on the service ribbon for all units that were awarded the citation following Hurricane Katrina.
