This is an exquisite Navajo purple shell and silver necklace. This piece contains four outstanding and large hand carved silver leaves. Located at the bottom of the necklace are two purple spiny oyster shells with the largest measuring around 3/4" X 1/2". Surrounding the shells are silver ropes with accenting channeled patterns. Sterling silver, marked. Cir. 1970's+. Signed by Navajo artist, E. Balone . The length of the necklace measures around 21". Sturdy 23 grams.
