The 25mm wide rim mates naturally with a 25mm or 28mm tyre. In the old days, it was believed that a skinny tyre pumped up to bursting point with a tiny contact patch on the road would give minimum rolling resistance. But modern research has exposed this idea as completely false! For superior control, cornering grip and minimum rolling resistance, you need at least a 25mm rim and a reasonable tyre pressure, between 90and 135 psi.
