First in "Views of Jerusalem" Series. Mishkenot Sha'ananim was the first Jewish neighborhood outside the walls of the Old City of Jerusalem, built by Moses Montefiore, at the end of the 19th century. This striking Bullion provides a view of Jerusalem from "Mishkenot Sha'ananim" to the Walls of the Old City. To the right is the Tower of David beside Jaffa Gate. Pictured in the foreground are typical houses of the neighborhood with their arched windows, tiled roofs and alleyways. To the left is the famous windmill built by Montefiore, which stands out on the Jerusalem landscape.
