The LAV-25 is an eight-wheeled armored vehicle, characterized by good amphibious features, used by the United States Marine Corps from the beginning of the ‘80s to perform reconnaissance and close combat duties. Entered into service in 1983 it saw the Gulf War, the Iraq War, and Afghanistan. Equipped with a reliable diesel engine it is able to reach the speed of 100 Km/h. The eight-wheel drives and the independent suspension system are the ideal solutions to support the “all-terrain” capability. Developed and built in several versions and configurations it is equipped with an M242 Bushmaster 25 mm cannon and, typically, two 7.62 mm. machine guns. The crew is three and it is able to have on board, as passengers, four soldiers with combat gear.
