Joint Chiefs of Staff Outstanding Public Service Ribbon
Criteria:
The Joint Chiefs of Staff Outstanding Public Service Medal is presented to United States citizens (or groups) who do not derive their principal livelihood from the U.S. Government and who show exceptional meritorious service to the Department of Defense, Joint Chiefs or other command. They also need to have rendered this service or assistance at great personal sacrifice, motivated solely by patriotism, good citizenship or sense of public responsibility. This must be to a lesser extent than would deserve the receipt of the JCS Distinguished Public Service Medal.
