Carved by hand of sese wood, this mask honors the beliefs and customs of Liberia's Dan community. Salihu Ibrahim decorates the expressive mask with jute braids and beard. "I think this mask is among the most unique pieces I've crafted," says the master carver. The mask is credited with bringing success in hunting and in business.
