Animal facts:
Lives in every land mass except Australia and Antarctica. Largest and most powerful of all land mammals. Eats about 225kg of grass, foliage and other vegetation a day and drinks about 136L of water at a time. Reaches a ht of 3m and the African elephant, 4 m. After a gestation period of 21 " 22 months, usually one calf is born.
