Merchant Marine Combat Bar Ribbon
Criteria:
The Merchant Marine Combat Bar is an award of the United States Merchant Marines. Created in May of 1943, it was awarded to seamen who were aboard ships if it was attacked or damaged by and enemy or an instrument (such as a mine) of war. If the sailor was forced to abandon ship, they were issued the Bar along with a Silver Service Star device.
