Ner Tamid features a unique technique of glass bending. Specialty or hand-coloured glass is formed in the kiln, reaching 775˚C. After a careful annealing process, the glass is affixed to the back of the structure and the glass appears to be coming through the spaces in the wooden frame. Transparent borosilicate glass was torch worked into discs and applied as inlays. Carved and painted with gold gilding, resulting in an Eternal Light which truly contributes to the Torah Ark, filling the surrounding sanctuary with a radiance of kedusha.
