Blunt force trauma is the primary physical threat during a conventional riot. This vest is designed to offset that risk. Flexible squares of EVA foam arrayed across torso and upper arms provide sturdy impact protection. This is paired with a foam neck roll designed to reduce whiplash style injuries and protect the throat against jabbing attacks.
Originally developed by Monadnock Lifetime Products, this style of vest is now produced under the Hatch brand by the Safariland group.
