You can help us with one of the final pieces of the chicken project. We need two battery-powered automated door openers to open and close the chicken project morning and night. We are raising 180 chickens for the farm to provide up to 14 dozen eggs per day as protein for children's feeding programs. We're also raising baby chicks to build them up strong until they have their feathers and adult immune systems. We'll be handing them off to poor families, those without work, single-parent homes, and widows who are in need. As they take care of these momma chickens, they will produce an egg per day for 2.5 years. That's 912 eggs or 76 dozen eggs - from just one chicken! If there are 6 family members, they get 6 chickens. How cool is this project, providing protein to those in need?

our chicken laying house is basically finished and ready to receive hundreds of little chicks. They will live inside for 30 days while they grow big enough to go outside. This will give us the time to install the automatic chicken doors. Here is a current photo of the project.
