Each piece of glass is hand cut, wrapped in copper and soldering together into the frame. The frame is then soldered to the colorful base, made of glass and zinc.
The tallit, prayer shawl, is an important symbol used on the side of the frame. On this special day the bar or bat mitzvah wears a tallis for the first time when called to the bimah to read from the torah.
