Valsgarde Viking Helmet Replica
Handmade helmet made of fine silver, brass and steel. A near perfect replica of the famous helmet found at the #8 grave site at the Valsgärde farm in Sweden. The original helmet is now on display at The University Museum of Uppsala, Sweden.
Helmet: Steel construction (like the original) with fine silver (.999) pressblechs, brass highlights, and almandine (red) stones for the animal eyes.
Aventail (chainmail): Made with two different types of rings on every other row: Solid rings (made of iron) and riveted rings which are made entirely by hand (1.2mm thick iron wire), round in cross section and riveted with 1mm wire.
Inside Padding/Lining: Padding is hand sewn from hand-woven linen and attached to a wide strap of vegetable-tanned leather riveted inside of the helmet.
Size: Handmade to fit YOUR provided head dimensions.
Total Weight: Approximately 6.5 lbs (3 kilograms).
